Jack Horn Obituary

Jack Irwin Horn, 71.

Loving father to his son Adam, daughter Sharna, and daughter-in-law Erica. Proud papa of his granddaughter Megan. Jack was born on November 08, 1951, to Dolores nee Hayes and the late Bruce Horn, and grew up with his brother Steve and sister Valerie in Chicago, IL. He died on August 09, 2023. A personal accomplishment that he was extremely proud of was graduating from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a degree in accounting. He then dedicated over 47 years of his life practicing as a Certified Public Accountant. However, some of the biggest joys in his life included: building and flying remote controlled airplanes and helicopters; grilling and cooking, he became quite an accomplished home chef and would make dishes that would rival many restaurants; vacationing with his kids and friends; spending time with his granddaughter; listening to opera; joking around; and of course, watching the Raiders. He had a big personality, was often the life of the room, and strived to make people laugh. He did his very best to impart the knowledge and wisdom he possessed onto others, and to share experiences with friends and family which he knew would bring joy to their lives. He is irreplaceable and will be missed, but the laughter and great times we all shared with him will never be forgotten. His funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, August 17 at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Boulevard, Skokie, IL 60077-2224. Following the service, his interment will be at Menorah Gardens Cemetery, 2630 S 17th Avenue, Broadview, IL 60155. For those interested in attending the service, but unable to join us in person, the service will be streamed live. To find the live stream you can go to the Chicago Jewish Funerals webpage. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to National Jewish Health, P.O. Box 17169, Denver, CO 80217-0169, https://www.nationaljewish.org/home.
