I thought Laurie was the most beautiful girl in our graduating class of '70. We were on the New Trier Guard together in '66. She was and is an angel.

Rest in peace, my birthday buddy. You were a beautiful person and I know your beautiful soul lives on.

I can still hear Laurie's laugh in my head.

I met Laurie Anger at Joseph Sears in Kenilworth. She was in the 8-1's section, which were the very smart kids. She was always so nice, always had a smile. Her father and my father both coached little league for our respective brothers one summer. Mr. Anger had the top team. My father had, shall we say, not the top team. So my father bet her father a portable television that if my dad's team beat Laurie's dad's team, he'd have to get my dad a television. Mr. Anger's team was undefeated. My dad's hadn't won a game. Well, my dad's team won in a thriller, which Laurie and I watched.  And don't you know, Mr. Anger showed up the following week at our house with a portable television!  Laurie was so bouncy and happy all the time, so smart and just a terrific person.
