Yesterday, I had a nice chat with Cory's brother Stan who lives in Colorado. (Stan is ten years older than Cory.) He told me Cory died of complications of pancreatic cancer. Stan could not get to the funeral home at the time of Cory's death but handled the arrangements by phone. He also asked that Cory's ashes be sent to him promptly by FedX. Cory and Stan's parents were active in St. Mark's church in Evanston so Stan plans to bring the ashes there when he can but not sure when that will be. He will notify me and Peter Burnett when that is going to happen. RIP Cory! You have lots of friends who will always love you.

Cory and I were very close friends in the 60s before I moved with my family to Oregon. I lost track of him in the early 70s and I attempted to track him down for many years with no success. I knew he had a sister but was unaware he had an older brother. I would really appreciate any memories of his life that any of you may want to share . Please contact me at tk.farrell@ Gmail.com

Respectfully,

I moved to Kenilworth over the Thanksgiving weekend as an out of place 7th grader from California.  Vera Woolman and Sandy Barrett rescued me .  They also introduced me to the "cool" boys, one of whom was Cory.  He was quite tall, and looked like a movie star.  Yes, this from a 12 year old girl, or whatever age we were in 7th grade.  He was palling around with David Tucker who would become my hilarious boyfriend, Steve Black, Chuck Castino, Doug O'Brien and the rest of the Sears guys.  I remember when Peter Burnett came to Sears too.  He must have felt as out of place as I did.  Anyways, Cory was pretty much the ringleader, and a nice guy. I lost sight of him when we all went to NTE and now I am sorry to hear of his death from pancreatic cancer.  He will be missed, particularly as a terrific guy from Joseph Sears.

I was sorry to see this--Cory was such a complex figure, perhaps, especially after his mom died while he was still in high school.

I knew him through Joe Towner. My best memories of Cory was when we were teenagers and he and Joe would sneak into the Episcopal church in Wilmette to play the organ well into the night.  Later he joined Joe and me when we went to MX and after a month of travelling on buses and sleeping on beaches, Cory left us. I would be interested to hear more about him and his life over the past 40-odd years.
